nicholas hamnett That's an easy one! We're all BEING human, and we're all BECOMING dead!
'Til then, Parmenides and Heraclitus aside, I'll add Evans to my collection of favourite trumpeter albums.
I love the easy-breezy charm of Chet Baker, blowing soft clouds; and Miles Davis' Bitches Brew is obviously it.
This is suiting my taste in the abstract right now.Put a trumpet player through a mincer with a squeaky toy he might sound like this.Which is not a criticism, truly.A link of Peter Evans? Breakfast sorted! Favorite track: Wormhole.

braddutzcollection this is incredible original music with great creativity and unique approach to ensemble playing mixed with free form improvisation

Cosmographer In my opinion this album is, along with Ghosts, Evans' best recording, featuring some of his most remarkable compositions to date. Wormhole in particular is a true tour de force and a sign of Evans' maturity as an artist. 100% recommended!

ethanavery My favorite peter record. The arrival of years of conceptual exploration, it’s unlike anything else and marks a new standard for progressive jazz. In the future I might imagine a group recording fantastic music in this new vein, but I can’t imagine a frontman half as skilled as peter. For I and many, it’s bird to Coltrane to peter. I own this on vinyl and have already had many listening sessions with close friends from top to bottom. I believe peter’s music the best in jazz today Favorite track: Sphere.

Due to the ongoing virus crisis, the LP will not be ready for shipping until mid-May. Apologies for this. The plant is indeed in production, with half the crew working at a time and switching out every two weeks. I've been assured it's being worked on. Sorry for this and I greatly appreciate all the orders that have come in. Check in here for more news...

The first release from Evans' new group Being & Becoming, featuring some of the leading lights from the next generation of creative musicians: Joel Ross, Nick Jozwiak, and Savannah Harris. This debut album features a set of new compositions from Evans, moving between notated chamber music textures, free improvisations, deep grooves and telepathic ensemble playing.

Being & Becoming represents a new chapter in Evans' commitment to composition and improvisation in a small-group format. After working with a variety of ensembles that feature electronics, Being & Becoming is a totally acoustic venture. Like Evans, all three of his new bandmates move effortlessly from very traditional musical contexts to the most forward-thinking. The group has been slowly refining its concept in NYC since 2017. The quartet's 2020 self-titled record on Evans' More is More Records marks another point of evolution in his commitment to composing for creative musicians.
